The 6-Day Free Trial: What Happens When You Try the Coaching Audio Subscription

Jul 11 / Rachel L.
A free trial is only useful if you know how to use it.

If you’ve been thinking about trying the Cuentacuenta coaching audio subscription but you’re not sure what to expect or what you’ll actually be doing, what the format feels like or what comes next this post is for you.

Here’s exactly what happens during your six days.

First: what is the Coaching Audio subscription?

The Coaching Audio subscription gives you four question-based speaking audios per month: one per week, twelve prompts total. For each audio, you record yourself answering three open-ended questions out loud (90 seconds maximum per prompt), submit your recordings, and receive a personalized written feedback report from Cecilio within 72 hours.

The feedback report covers: your strengths, specific areas to work on, corrections with explanations, and focus points for your next session.

The subscription is $99/month. The 6-day free trial gives you full access, including your first audio, with no charge until the trial ends.

What to do on Day 1

Sign up for the trial and set aside fifteen to twenty minutes.

Your first audio is waiting. You’ll see three prompts: questions about you, your life, your opinions, your experiences. Read them. Don’t overthink them. They’re designed to get real language out of you, not trick you.

Hit record. Answer the first question out loud. You have ninety seconds per prompt which is more than enough. Speak as naturally as you can. Don’t stop to correct yourself mid-sentence. Don’t translate in your head before you speak. Just answer.

Record all three. Submit.

That’s Day 1. Done.

What happens after you submit

Within 72 hours, usually less, you’ll receive your feedback report from Cecilio. It’s written, specific, and personal. Not “good job, keep practicing.” Actually useful feedback on what you did well and what to focus on next.

Read it. Take notes on anything that surprises you. That’s the data you work with.

What to do with Days 2–4

The trial is six days. Your feedback comes within 72 hours of submission, so if you submitted on Day 1, you have your report by Day 3 at the latest.

Use Days 2–4 to sit with the feedback. Look at the corrections. Try saying the corrected versions out loud. Not because you need to master them before the trial ends, but because that immediate practice makes the feedback stick.

If you want to practice more speaking during the trial without another full audio, spend five to ten minutes a day answering questions out loud to yourself. Anything works: what you did today, an opinion on something you read, a childhood memory. The format is the same: you speak, you finish the sentence, you keep going.

Day 5: decide what you want

By Day 5, you’ve had your first audio experience and seen your feedback. You have a sense of whether the format works for you.

If you want to continue, great. The subscription continues automatically after Day 6. You’ll get your second audio the following week.

If you want to cancel, do it before the end of Day 6. No charge. No complicated process. Cancel through your account settings.

What makes the trial actually worth doing

The most valuable thing the trial gives you isn’t a free week of Spanish practice. It’s self-knowledge.

After submitting your first audio and reading your feedback, you’ll know a few things that are hard to know without doing the exercise: what your actual spoken Spanish sounds like, what patterns you fall into, what you’re actually good at, and what’s specifically holding you back.

That information alone, even if you don’t continue is useful.

But most people continue. Because the format works in a way that casual solo practice doesn’t.

How to get the most out of it

  • Do it on Day 1, not Day 4. Give yourself time to see the feedback.
  • Answer the prompts without overthinking them. Real, messy language is more useful to practice with than careful, over-edited language.
  • Read the feedback carefully and try the corrections out loud.
  • Notice how it feels to speak without live pressure or judgment.

That last one is the thing most people mention. The absence of a live audience and being able to think and form sentences without someone watching you do it, changes the way they speak. It’s not what they expected.

Frequently asked questions

What happens during the Cuentacuenta 6-day free trial?

You sign up, access your first coaching audio immediately, record yourself answering three speaking prompts out loud, submit your recordings, and receive a personalized feedback report from Cecilio within 72 hours. You can cancel anytime before the six days are up with no charge.

How is the coaching audio different from a conversation class?

There’s no live component. You record your responses at any time that works for you, submit them, and receive written feedback afterward. This removes the live performance pressure that makes many learners freeze, while still providing real, personalized feedback.

Is a credit card required for the Cuentacuenta free trial?

Yes, a card is required to start the trial. You will not be charged if you cancel before the end of Day 6. After the trial ends, the subscription continues at $99/month.

What if I submit my audio at the end of the trial period?

If you submit close to the end of your trial, your feedback may arrive after the trial has ended. For the best experience, submit on Day 1 or Day 2 so you receive feedback before your trial ends.
